3D

I had various random ideas for this project - making a fruit bowl around my head, tying spaghetti to my hair, constructing a train track around me, using my dog, etc.
I thought a good approach to take for this project was to include the mane which is my hair. It's a costume in itself, I've been compared to Hagrid / Chewbaca / you name it. I could stick things in it / use it as sculpture.

Settled on creating a birds nest with my hair and sticking eggs in it, another comparison I've received and I like birds so.

When fabric shopping with Mum I found some polstyrene eggs for 60p!! I'd been watching American craft mom YouTube videos on blowing out eggs and I was dreading it so the polystyrene option was a blessing.

Painting my eggs and a genius egg drying station I built

FINAL IMAGE

I also used a Robin I made for the Christmas tree at Foundation to guard over the eggs.

I could've made him more visible / changed his angle on the final image?

Crafting is something I really enjoy but haven't done much of recently, this project has definitely motivated me to do some more. I'm pleased with my idea and the photo but I think if I did it again I would try and craft something more ambitious?

-it was a challenge knowing that you weren't the one taking the photograph? I'm not always assertive enough to direct what I'm wanting, I think I offended my Mum by constantly asking her to take another as something wasn't quite right
-finding a good backdrop was difficult, I should've planned this better rather than assuming any tree in the back garden would work as a suitable background.
- getting the lighting so that my hair wasn't too dark that it didn't resemble a nest was difficult also
- hair is a temperamental thing, this was the second attempt as the day before my hair wasn't looking nesty enough
- making is so fun, need to do more!!
- could collage using this image - replace the things in my hair
- fun project! Would do something like this again
