For the hotdog book we made in class I used some interesting snippets from my pretty existential conversation about the existence of silence with Calum. I really like the images I made in this session, and pleased that I managed to get a little book done in a couple of hours - definitely need to make some more books in my personal work!
I like the idea of the paradox of silence and questioning its existence but I think that will be pretty difficult to illustrate and develop. I was speaking to Don about silence and what it means to him and he said the sounds of the chanting and bells in the temples in Thailand, meant silence to him.
This got me thinking of the idea of what silence means to individual people, I could get some varied responses and illustrate the imagery in them?? Explore the personal meaning of silence?
Also talked to Rose about loss of hearing, how would this affect your perception of what silence means.
To do: interview more people / get responses
Really excited for this project, its a lot more delicate and precious feeling than my previous projects so it should be a good challenge and really interesting!
