untold stories evaluation

wahoo!! I think this has been my favourite outcome from the briefs so far!

YES:

- pushed myself out of my comfort zone and i think it paid off!
- tackled Photoshop to edit my drawings - never done this before, its not as scary as i thought!
- really happy with the colours and mark making
- feel v positive about this project compared to futurology
- i like the ambiguity of the book
- research - I really enjoyed gathering responses, especially from strangers, this was something new and interesting and it motivated me, a stranger has shared this personal information with me so i have a duty to illustrate it well maybe?
- I think the main strength of this project compared to others was that I got my idea early on and stuck with it, usually i have lots of itty bitty ideas, end up experimenting with all and run out of time / get overwhelmed.
- tackled a subject matter I never wouldve considered illustrating
- this brief has taught me the importance and value of interesting research methods

MEH:

- time management - i started the actual final drawings too late, it was a bit of a rush at the end, i didnt get time to play/experiment with 2 of the pages (the one with the aerials, the one at the end with the silhouette) - i think this shows , they're my two weakest
- for that final page with the silhouette I was trying to illustrate silence in regards to a disorientation with loss of hearing / tinnitus etc, I don't think this really comes across. If i had had time to experiment with ways of visualising this it would have come out better I think
- i could've done more research - eg read more books
