Goals for 504

Moving forward towards 504 I want to keep hold and push the visceral, raw imagery I was trying to achieve during making my publication. 503 pushed me to think laterally rather than literally which was a challenge but a really beneficial new approach for me to take, especially if I'm wanting to produce conceptual, editorial based work. I struggled with juggling uni briefs and commissions at the beginning of 503, but got better towards the end and think it's important that I keep trying to keep a healthy balance between both.

503 was one of the first times I really utilised digital software, so I want to keep pushing myself to learn new skills and use the benefits things like Photoshop have. Having restrictions put in place like limited colours and only using printmaking were challenging but useful so I want to continue this by giving myself some limitations when I'm working in order to not get overwhelmed with a crazy amount of possibilities as sometimes this can get me into a rut? I really enjoyed learning moving image so I want to try and learn more animation techniques and incorporate this into my practice.

By April I want to keep pushing myself to try and create work which feels professional and polished but in a way which still retains and celebrates the handmade quality and embraces the happy accidents. I'm interested in tangible things, I've been playing around with 3D work in ceramics, I want to see where this can take me outside of COP. I want to celebrate craft and authenticity.
