Final Music Video Animation

finished music video! its been a v long 2 weeks and i don't want to scan anything else for a good while

Strengths:

- work ethic. I think I've kept my momentum and been very driven to finish this within the two weeks even though its been v hard work

- its my first animation longer than 15 seconds which has been a super rewarding project to do and to see all of the hard work as one finished thing.

- I like the quite lo-fi nature of it, it feels a lot more me than it wouldve done if I tried to do it digitally

- I like the chorus and the abstract nature of that section even though I did repeat it as I didn't have time to animate separate footage for each chorus

- I think the monoprinting I did for the first section works well and the way Ive included it subtly throughout the animation as overlays or backgrounds ties the whole thing together more than if I left it as just the start bit

- my digital skills especially in after effects have improved so much more after making this and I feel a lot more confident with the software now

Weaknesses:

- I wish I had had longer than 2 weeks to make this so i couldve produced something better and less rushed

- Because of time constraints a lot of the animation is quite repetitive, using the same gifs over and over which I'm worried could get boring or dull?

- I animated all of the gifs by hand which was really time consuming- it took me about 597 drawings and each of those drawings took 30 seconds to scan, which is a lot of time spent stood by the scanner

- 597 drawings is a lot of paper and i feel very guilty about this. If I was to animate again I would give myself more time to learn more digital skills to cut down on the amount of paper I need to use

- The metronome in the eye doesnt tick in time to the beat which is really frustrating but I couldnt seem to get my head around it

- I feel like Ive got a grip of After Effects but I'm probably going about it in an unnecessarily long and complicated way and theres probably a lot of shortcuts I'm missing out on

- It doesnt look as polished or professional as I'd maybe imagined but as it was my first proper animation attempt I think I've done a pretty good job
