to be completely honest I'm really struggling with this project. In such a creative rut, I can't seem to produce any work I'm pleased with / even have the motivation to make any work, even personal sketchbooks are staying empty?? Really really frustrating especially with the time constraints of this project.
- Issue is I have too many little bitty ideas rather than one solid concept to run with. So I'm trying to test out all of these little ideas and running out of time in the process, trying to do too much, too much self inflicted pressure.
- How can I avoid the project turning cliche / un-stimulating
- Spoke to Matt explaining I was feeling stuck, he said I was trying to tackle to big of a subject matter, I need to narrow it down, choose one aspect of this imagined future world.
- Decided to focus solely on overgrowth and the visual language of that. Natural forms overtaking. Letting go of ideas surrounding the plastic remnants of human existence (fear this will appear cliche).
It's okay to let go of ideas that aren't working.
Creative ruts are normal, don't beat yourself up. Allow time to de-stress. Keep filling personal sketchbooks, will eventually help in relieving ruts.
V frustrating but will be dandy in the end
