decided to focus on the natural side, natural forms, simple shapes, how will the world look post human?
Some pictures from my sketchbook, visual play:
I do like this image but fear its pretty cliche with the plastic bottle, too 'advertisement' ?
had a lot of fun making these. Collage and using the scraps
havent drawn like this in a while. really enjoyed it though, investing more time. Could be nice to do a little series of detailed drawings?
colours n textures
drawing from photo reference of the Barbican Centre London. Sort of a real life version of my imagined future world, plants overtaking manmade structures? Could be a good reference source?
made these collages after being enticed by the colours of vintage postcards, thought it could be something fun to play with. Its post-apocalyptic but in a more humorous way?? Turned out better than expected, think I'll push this forward to a final outcome?
PEER CRIT
Been feeling a bit stuck during this project (see creative rut brain vomit blog post) so the crit was a little intimidating, made me realise I was a bit behind and should start creating final outcomes soon.
Aside from that it was a good confidence boost to hear some positive feedback for what I was producing and to step back from it all and look at it objectively, get out of my head.
Feeling a lot better now.
- The postcard collages went down well, definitely going to make some more of these and make a little zine or something.
- People in my group had some fun ideas for what I could do, a pull tab piece like kids book where a building could disappear behind foliage?? Or a childrens book explaining how humans ruined the world?
- Monoprints were well received too, going to head down to the print room and make some monoprints with the simple forms I've been playing around with, see what I could make with that, maybe a zine or some collages etc?
- Feeling much more motivated to get cracking with final outcomes.
