I've been going to Green Man Festival for a few years and what sets it apart is the visual identity every year. Championing folk and craft and creating a different yearly immersive character driven visual concept which runs throughout the whole festival. in 2014 Nous Vous created the identity and its such a joy. Shape driven character design delicious ! They look like woodblock prints texture-wise which is something I chatted to Ben about trying - I love the print quality it produces (eg on Nathaniel Russel's work) Ben said what was interesting was the limitations the process brings up - the fact you're limited in the directions of cut you can make etc - would love to give it a go !
Anyway - Nous Vous' work is a massive inspiration - problem solving through play - beauty in collaborating - hands on analogue processes - charming character concepts etc!
The animations created from the characters are a joy too. Brilliance in how simple shape driven characters can achieve effective playful animations with subtle smooth movement
