Personal Sketchbooks

Sketchbooks are a really important part of my practice. They're a safe space to play and jot things down and write unrealistic to do lists.

Something I'm trying to get better at is comparing my work to my own work and not the work of others - looking back through old ideas rather than wishing I could make work like so-and-so etc. Personal sketchbooks are a reflection of intrinsic motivations and I think its important to celebrate what those are for myself and look inwards before I compare outwards. Its a joy to look back and discover old things (and a horrible cringe fest to look back at others) but thats life
