The brief to create something we'd like on our walls was really cool, took me a while to decide on something but in the end i went with some nice jugs. Really into wobbly drawings of museum artefacts at the minute?
some nice things at leeds museum
So thought I'd try and make a screenprint of some vases, jugs n the sort.
Once I'd tackled the composition it took me ages to decide on how I wanted to use the limited palette of blue ink and red ink. Many testers later I chose one, was a bit worried my design was going to look super busy and crowded.
trying to work out how to use the two colours so you would be able to make out each vase and information didn't get lost or confused?
The kodatrace was a funny one, I was a big fan of the texture the china marker made but I was worried it wouldn't make a bold enough line for the parts I wanted to show up solid so I used acrylic paint on-top, this took chuffing ages to apply on the kodatrace. It was a fun process making the positivies this way but it was proper time consuming so I'd consider printing onto the kodatrace instead next time especially if I wanted a bold solid area.

final screenprint
- really pleased with the outcome, came out better than I expected!
- not sure the colours lend themselves to my subject as well as other print designs would've
- like the china marker texture v v much
- happy days
