Sea Legs Final Artwork

STRENGTHS:

- I'm quite pleased with my concept for this piece and I think it fits with the song meaning quite well. The song is about an individual being stuck in a repetitive routine that someone has found themselves in because of lack os self discipline at putting themselves first. Theyre almost numb to the consequences of giving too much of themselves and getting nothing back and seem reluctant to accept or change the situation as they are so devoted to the subject in question. The refrain "over and over" is repeated throughout the song to show the cyclical nature of the situation.
The meaning of my illustration is that the character is swamped and overwhelmed by this strange surreal forest, they ultimately feel inferior and stuck. The trees are missing parts yet are still held on by thin string, just as the writer of the song has given too much of themselves away but cannot or does not want to change the situation.

- I like the colours, I love added an off white paper and I scanned in some grainy textured paper to overlay which I think is effective.

WEAKNESSES:

- In my tutorial with Amy she said she thought the red string needed to be thicker, I thought the same when she mentioned it so I send revised versions to the band but they still preferred the original so hey ho.

- I'm not sure the figure is clear enough as a figure?

- I think the pencil shading looks quite scruffy and bitty / jarring, if I was to do this again I would change the way i did this.
